MURALIST GEORGE BEVILL VISITS OKE POLAR EXPRESS DAY

Muralist George Bevill shared his illustration, inspired by Chris Van Allsburg’s book The Polar Express, during Odessa Kilpatrick Elementary School’s annual Polar Express Day held prior to winter break.

Bevill offered his talent to paint murals around the school. He is one of many volunteers at OKE and has been painting murals there for many years.

On the final school day before the winter break, OKE principal Malynn Rodriguez read The Polar Express in the library with Bevill’s illustration as the backdrop. Any students who wanted to listen to the story joined Rodriguez for the story time. Students and staff enjoyed this fun way to end the first part of their school year before the long break.
